Heath 1 Granville 1
Janell Bame 1 goal. Andrea Hewitt 1 assist. Marisa Carson 5 saves. The Heath girls finally played up to their potential against one of the schools biggest rivals. They were not intimidated by the Granville attack as they have been in the past. Our team defense played near flawlessly against everything the Blue Aces threw at them. After entering halftime at 0-0 the girls clearly believed that they could beat a seemingly superior opponent. Granville was able to produce a goal off of a turnover with 17 minutes left in the contest. Heath was not about to roll over and throw in the towel. Their hard work paid off inside the final minute when Janell Bame was able to score and knot the game at one. Hopefully this result is the turning point for the program as a whole.

October 14, 2006
Heath 1 Lakewood 0

The Heath girls posted their second win of the year and their first shut out in their brief history with a 1-0 win over Lakewood. The Bulldogs started the game with pressure on the Lancer goal. Janell Bame crossed the ball into the goal mouth and the pressure from Andrea Hewitt and Kayla Young caused a defender to put the ball in passed the keeper. Heath controlled the game with their possession and limited Lancer leader Angela Dobos to two shots from non-dangerous areas. Heath gets another shot at Bexley this coming Wednesday as they meet in the Tournament.

Sustaining several injuries throughout the contest, the Bulldogs were not able to keep up possession. The lone goal for Heath was scored by Janell Bame on a feed from Abbie Carpenter. Marisa Carson and Dani Ambrus shared 10 saves. Heath hosts Fisher Catholic Thursday at 7:15pm

September 9, 2006
Heath 4 Northland 1

Heath dominated the run of play from the opening kick and ended the first half up 3-0 with two goals by Courtnee Fancher (the first unassisted, the second was assisted by Janell Bame), and one by Samantha Adcock. The Lady Vikings came out with more pressure on the Heath defense and was awarded a penalty kick which they converted. The Bulldogs quickly took over the majority of possession and inside five minutes from time Tosha Rector slotted a shot passed the Northland net minder to close out the scoring. "I am so proud of my girls," says head coach Brad Crumbacher, "they finally played a full eighty minutes and with the confidence they have showed periodically, but not for long stretches." Heath tries to add another one to the win column Monday when they travel to play Buckeye Valley at 5:30.

September 7, 2006
Heath 0 Granville 5

Carson 21 saves.

August 31, 2006
Heath 1 Columbus Academy 5

The bulldogs opened the scoring three minutes into the game when Janell Bame pounced on a poor clearance and slotted it passed the Viking net minder. Academy evened the score two minutes later. Heath spent the majority of the game chasing Viking attackers as they raced towards Marisa Carson in net. Carson had a very solid game despite the five goals with 16 saves.

August 29, 2006
Heath 1 Newark 2

The Lady Bulldogs had a crushing blow given them with rivals Newark on Tuesday. They fell 2-1 in a game that was bitterly fought. After a scoreless first half Newark shocked the 'dogs with two quick goals. Abbie Carpenter made things interesting with a high curling shot over the keepers head from about 24 yards out on a feed from Janell Bame. Despite Newark's size and rough play, we were able to take control of things in midway through the second half. If the game could have lasted five more minutes Heath would have surely pulled it out.

August 26, 2006
Heath 2 Jonathan Alder 5

The Girl's Soccer Team opened the season with a disappointing loss to Jonathan Alder at home 5-2. The bulldogs were down at half 4-0 despite having most of the run of play. Alder opened the second half with a breakaway goal before the Bulldogs took things over once again. Both Heath goals were scored by Janell Bame. The first coming from a nice give-and-go pass with Courtnee Fancher and the second from a direct kick from about 21 yards out. Marisa Carson and Dani Ambrus combined for 11 saves.

GIRLS SOCCER RESULTS
- Reports by Brad Crumbacher

October 13, 2005
Heath 1 Lakewood 2

The Heath Girls Soccer Team concluded their inaugural season last night with a 2-1 loss to Lakewood. "In the season that we have had, this was a crushing loss for the Girls." The Bulldogs could not get out of their own end during the first three minutes of the game. However, after that time they spent most of the rest of the game in Lakewood's end on the attack. Heath out shot the Lancers 18-11. Leading 1-0 with 15 minutes left in the contest, Heath gave up a break away goal to Angela Dobos and then again three minutes later. "We were able to keep Angela out wide for most of her shots, but her speed made it difficult to keep her from running through." The Bulldogs host West Jefferson on Monday (10/17) at 7:00 in the first round of the tournament. They are hoping to pay back the Roughriders for a 3-1 loss last Saturday.

September 27, 2005
Heath 0 John Glenn 4

When is a loss not a loss?  The answer is when a team finally plays up to their potential.  The Lady Bulldogs did just that during the second half of their game against John Glen on Tuesday night.  The first half was tough to swallow.  Heath was behind on the score board at half 4-0 due to some incredible long range shooting and a penalty kick.  "We let them dictate play for the first 20 minutes.  It was a track meet.  Once we slowed things down, we were in control."  The real Heath team showed up immediately after the second half began.  Amy McOsker scored two minutes in and everyone woke up.  "Everyone played smarter and more aggressive than they have the entire year."  McOsker scored a second in the 30th minute and Janell Bame closed out the scoring in the 33rd minute.  "It was the perfect atmosphere to play in.  The crowd was amazing!  I have been telling the girls that we have all the tools to start winning, we just need to believe we can.  I think they finally started believing."
Heath plays host to Granville on Thursday at 7:15.

Grandview defeated the Lady Bulldogs of Heath on Thursday night with a score of 10-1.  The Heath girls came out flat and fell behind early.  After being down 8-0 at the half Heath played the second period with more energy and managed to score a goal by Nikki Ambrus on an Amy McOsker throw in.  "Our tactics are good and we are starting to play good balls.  We are just a step slow right now.  We are going to win soon.  We just need to be patient."  Grandview scores came from Jessica Frank, Lindsey Jump, Rachael Radel, Grace Snider, Becca Teach, and Anna Vogel.  Both Brook Beasy and Betsy Short had two goals each.

September 3, 2005 - New Albany
Heath 0 New Albany 8

The Lady Bulldogs had another rough outing on Saturday. This time against the Eagles of New Albany. The Bulldog's lack of experience showed in the first half, but they came back strong in the second and played a better brand of "team defense." The game ended with an 8-0 score. Coach Crumbacher says, "Believe it or not, we're really close. If we can put two strong halves together we can be a dangerous team. Right now we are taking some lumps, but learning some valuable lessons."

September 1, 2005 - Fisher Catholic
Heath 1 Fisher Catholic 6

Bame 1 goal. Carson 20 saves.

August 26, 2005
Heath 1 Buckeye Valley 2

The Lady Bulldogs took on Buckeye Valley Saturday and ended the game with a very slim loss. They entered half time up 1-0 on a goal by Kayla Young, assisted by Heather McCrillis. Buckeye Valley tied the game with 26 minutes left on a break away that just got my goal keeper Marisa Carson. Then, with 13 minutes left, Buckeye Valley was awarded a penalty kick in which they converted for the eventual game winner 2-1. The game ended with the Bulldogs forcing for the equalizer. Next up is at Fisher Catholic this coming Thursday at 5pm. - Report by Brad Crumbacher

August 25, 2005
Heath 0 Bexley 8
Last night the Girls Soccer team played host to the Bexley Lions. The Lady Bulldogs seemed over matched and on their heals from the start. They entered half-time down 6-0. The second half was a coming out party for the girls. They played much harder and without fear. Although they gave up two more goals in the second half (8-0) they created several scoring opportunities for themselves and were much more organized and stingy on defense. - Report by Brad Crumbacher

August 23, 2005
Heath 2 Rosecrans 6
Carson 12saves.  The Girls Soccer team came out of their first game at Bishop Rosecrans on the short end 6-2. The score was not indicative of how the game went. After giving up early goals in both halves the Bulldogs battled back within two (4 - 2) with roughly fifteen minutes left in the game. Goals were scored by Heather McCrillis and Amy McOsker. A couple of bad bounces later enabled Rosecrans to net two more goals and seal the game.   Although being outshot 12 -3 the Bulldogs held a good bit of the run of play. And, in the process, learned some valuable lessons to take into their game at home against Bexley on Thursday night at 7:15pm. - Report by Brad Crumbacher

McCosker 1 goal. Carson 12 saves.  Game one of the tournament would have made a great time to get your first win of the season, let alone the first of the program, but it wasn't meant to be. The Lady Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker to West Jefferson at home 2-1. Heath opened the scoring in the third minute with a goal by Amy McOsker. Aleigha Eggert evened the game at one with a goal in the 15th minute. Valarie Davis (WJ) scored on a broken play early in the second half to finish the scoring. Heath had several great chances to tie things up and go ahead, but none found the net. Everyone stepped up to play the last two games. I could not pick one MVP of the game because everyone played the game of their life. - Report by Brad Crumbacher (Heath Girls Soccer)
